AIGA Minnesota’s Design Camp is known as one of the national organization’s premier design conferences, one that takes our profession and passion to the great outdoors of Northern Minnesota. When we were asked to contribute to the effort, we enthusiastically committed to creating conference materials for the 2018 event.
Turning the Brief Inside Out
The Design Camp committee provided an open-ended brief, but wanted the conference to focus on personal creative development. The result: “Inside Out,” a theme designed to host a docket of talented designers speaking on the merits of investing in personal creative growth, taking risks and expressing a unique creative voice.
For Anyone Who Creates
Our visual language was based on deconstructing ideas about creative expression and connecting them to individual traits. The voice is empowering, putting creatives at the center of an idea that is open – applicable to anyone who creates. Ideas are delivered with illustrative elements and language across social media, promotions, swag, signage, and a comprehensive conference guide. Part informative and part fun, the materials helped to create an environment intended to open up campers to an inspiring weekend.
